10th Medical NBC Protection Task Force (Munich)

The Bundeswehr Medical NBC Protection Task Force (Task Force Med NBC Protection) was established in 2001 at the Medical Office (Department IX) and the military NBC research institutes. Your doctors and paramedics are specially trained to treat NBC victims. The task force is commanded by Doctor Colonel Dr. Dirk Densow. The operations management lies with the G3 operations department of the staff of the Sanitary Office. The Med NBC Protection Task Force has 163 posts (as of 2004) from the Bundeswehr departments involved. It is a military addition to the civilian MTFs. The task force is structured as follows:

- a management group (FüGrp),

- a medical group (SanGrpABC),

- a Med A reconnaissance and diagnosis group (A-AufklDiagnGrp) with two teams,

- a Med B reconnaissance and diagnosis group (B-AufklDiagnGrp with two teams and a sampling team,

- a Med C reconnaissance and diagnosis group (C-AufklDiagnGrp) with two teams.

To carry out its educational activities, the task force can fall back on the laboratories at the Institute for Microbiology and the Institute for Radiobiology. (32) In addition, a mobile microbiological laboratory is available that can identify a limited range of bio-warfare agents. The auxiliary force is equipped with the Duro armored ambulance, among other things. The lead group is ready for action within 24 hours, the medical team needs 72 hours to be ready for deployment. The task force took part in the maneuvers GOLDEN MASK (Germany, March / April 2006) and PRECISE RESPONSE (Canada, August 2009). The Medical NBC Protection Task Force was on standby during the 2006 soccer World Cup.
