2015 - INWORKS study - leukemia even with the slightest radiation

Study on workers in nuclear power plants shows the carcinogenic effects of low radiation doses.
There is no harmless dose: even the slightest exposure to ionizing radiation is sufficient to increase the risk of leukemia and lymphoma in the long term. This is confirmed by the largest study to date on this topic on more than 300.000 workers in nuclear power plants. Contrary to popular belief, there is no lower limit and a sustained low dose is just as carcinogenic as a single higher acute exposure, as the researchers report in the specialist journal "Lancet Hematology".

2013 - Radiation-induced genetic effects after Chernobyl and near nuclear facilities

Conclusion: “Low dose radiation” increases the number of stillbirths and malformations as well as the secondary sex ratio essentially linearly

The results help to refute the prevailing opinion that radiation-induced genetic effects in humans have yet to be proven.

2011 - Epidemiological abnormalities around nuclear power plants: Synoptic analysis

Since the results of the KiKK study were published 3 years ago, two further epidemiological studies have been published, one on malformations in newborns around nuclear power plants and one on the gender ratio at birth around Bavarian nuclear power plants. Both studies confirm the distance dependency found in the KiKK study, even if not all individual findings are statistically significant due to the small number of cases. A joint analysis of the three data sets with a non-linear distance model (Rayleigh distribution) results in a highly significant distance dependency of the risk with a maximum of the effect between 3 and 5 kilometers.

1988 - The "Benecke report"

to THTR Hamm and AVR Jülich

In 1988 Professor Jochen Benecke prepared a 261-page report on behalf of the Elektrowatt engineering company for the Minister of Economics, Medium-Sized Enterprises and Technology in North Rhine-Westphalia, which was kept secret for more than twenty years due to its highly explosive content: "Criticism of the safety devices and safety concepts of the THTR 300 in Hamm and the Jülich experimental reactor (AVR)".
Benecke and his colleagues involved (Peter Breitenlohner, Dieter Maison, Michael Reimann, Erhard Seiler) attested that both the AVR and the THTR were prone to Chernobyl-like explosions in water ingress accidents. Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) and AVR have not submitted any documents to the AVR expert group (2014) that refute Benecke's assessment, as the expert group expressly stated.
